Different from FarmBot's
ABS Plastic Parts
We use 3d printing to produce most of the plastic parts, which saves the cost of mold opening and more flexible production. Our raw materials are made of ABS and resin both of which have excellent hardness and UV resistance. Please understands that we are not built by injection, so there may be not so perfect. We provide 3D printing drawings, and you can replace them with 3D printing parts at any time.
MKS G V1.0
The board we build is base on V1.2 Arduino MEGA 2560 from FarmBot which features an Arduino MEGA 2560 microcontroller that interfaces with the Raspberry Pi, pulses the stepper drivers, and controls the UTM and peripherals.
NEMA 17 Closed Loop Stepper Motors
WenextFarm uses NEMA 17 closed-loop stepper motors, and there is no need to install stepper motor drivers on the motherboard. WenextFarm runs more quietly, and there is no need to worry about burning the motherboard or losing steps during operation.
limit switch
WenextFarm uses limit switches to detect the origin, and it is used with closed-loop stepper motors to make WenextFarm run more safely and accurately.
What you need to provide?
Planter Bed
All FarmBots must be mounted to a raised bed or similar infrastructure. Neither materials for the bed nor soil are included with the kits because every installation will be different, and shipping lumber and soil would be prohibitively expensive.
Electricity
FarmBot must be plugged into a 110 or 220V outlet. The 30cm (1ft) power cord comes with a standard US 3-prong plug. You must connect this to your own extension cord if needed. Customers outside the US: you must provide a plug adapter if needed.
Water
FarmBot's water system has a 3/4″ female Garden Hose Thread (GHT) connection, meaning you can take a standard US garden hose and screw it into your FarmBot. You will need to provide a hose of the appropriate length.
Internet
WenextFarm can only be controlled using the web app, so an internet connection is required. The Raspberry Pi has built-in WiFi, though you may need to reposition your WiFi router or install a repeater to ensure a reliable connection.
First of all, we have to thank FarmBot for its invention and open-source spirit, which allows us to access this innovative technology. Our target is to let agriculture of the future have more possibilities, so we hope we can make more and more people can touch with it. MicroFarm Genesis is the first product we sell, and most of the design comes from between FarmBot Genesis V1.2/1.6 and Express. So you can learn all the documents from Farmbot Documentation. We also hope that you can create your ideas for FarmBot Forum and improve this innovative project.
Frequently asked questions
Farmbot is an open-source precision agriculture CNC farming project inventor by Rory Aronson, Rick Carlino, and Tim Evers. MicroFarm is a separate company that found by three FarmBot’s big fans. We create our low-cost machine that bases on the FarmBot open-source project. So we are NO FarmBot company! If you still want to help the main project, please have look at Farm.Bot .
We are committed to providing the best quality products. As we continue to develop MicroFarm hardware and software, we will make changes. So the final product that we ship to you may be different than the one shown in our videos, photos, documentation, and as described on our websites, but I can promise the change is only an upgrade. If any part is damaged on arrival or during one year, we will replace it free of charge. Please note that the kit is a DIY machine and is not ready to use when unpacking it, you will need to have some hands-on ability.
We can ship our products worldwide. We offer free DHL/UPS express shipping over a hundred countries, and shipping takes about 3-5 days if you order over $999. If your country does not have a free shipping option at checkout, please contact us to confirm. Email: Sales@MicroFarm.tech All orders do not include import taxes, please understand.
First of all, most of our design comes from open-source FarmBot, which allows us to save a lot of research and development costs. Second, our production is all located in China, which will enable us to obtain competitive prices directly from the factory. Third, our goal is not to make profits from the open-source project, but to make more and more people have access to future agriculture. So our profit will be used for product development and upgrades.
